The Easiest Way to Inspire Each Other..

We had our Language Art class last Tuesday. It was fun, believe me, considering the fact that I am not really into Literature, where Mr.G asked us to write any positive traits that we believe our friends have it on their paper. It made me nervous, a bit, knowing what other people may think of me, but haha, it turned out quite shocking, at least for me...

Well, I really don't deserve this. Hahaha...I'm not that beautiful, I'm just a very common girl with a common attitude, and yeah. I believe 'I follow the crowd' theory was happening then. You know, when someone wrote pretty, and you have nothing in your mind, so you end up writing pretty as well. But, anyway, it made my day.LOL.

This is for me the most important part of the activity, where I get to know what people think of my self-bringing. Although I knew there won't be any negative comments, because it was strictly not allowed, it is still important because there are always things about myself that I want to improve. You see, I didn't really get the word 'kind' as much as my friends do. So, maybe this year I should focus on being nicer to people, and drop that slightly over-confident thingy as a way of improvement? ain't? :) Oh wait, who wrote the word 'shy' there? That person clearly doesn't know me. lol

You guys should do this with your friends, really. It is sometimes good to know what other people think of you, as it gives us chance to improve!

Well, you may say that this is a bragging post but, I really think that I should share this thing so that everyone can benefit from it as much as I benefited from it!

Okay, this is so embarrassing but I posted it anyway..

Till then, runnnnnnn....

The New 'Open-market' System

Today marks my second week as a PISMP (Program Ijazah Sarjana Muda Pendidikan) student semester 1. So far, the lecturers are good, giving us positive motivations all the time and nothing much works to do yet. My group and I have successfully presented the first topic of Philosophy in Education (I know my classmates were bored, luckily we’ve prepared a set of questions for them to find out during the presentation, so we knew they were paying attention) today although I was a bit nervous for I didn’t speak any English words during the holidays.

This semester, we have Bahasa Malaysia as one of our subjects. I'm not saying that I cannot speak or understand Malay, but it was quite a struggle to balance my Malay speaking skills after becoming so much blended with English words, if you know what I mean! But I know I’ll be just fine. I speak Malay everyday anyway, except not the standard one. Sabahan malay.LOL.

Oh, btw, IPG (Institut Pendidikan Guru) now has a new system about posting. Teachers from IPG will be put in open-market together with the teachers from Universities, except our choices are limited to Primary Schools only. Therefore there’s no such thing such as ‘secured job’ anymore. Only the high-performance teachers will be posted to schools and I say it is a real challenge to stand out in IPG!

Why a challenge? Because, you need to get an impressive CGPA of 3.5 and above, which is very hard to get if you are a TESL student in an English-centered institute (and we are! darn it), you must have a good leadership quality, active in co-curriculum activities, and yes, no discipline problems. Still the competition is very-very tough although you have all these qualities because there are too many clever+talented people in IPG and Universities. It really gives me goose bumps!

Anyway, I’ll try the best I can. I just need to be a little more hard working than before and leave all my bad behaviours behind!

The Views of the Small-Minded

“Setakat maktab boleh sibuk begitu” Seriously, I am HURT with that statement. What do you mean by that? IPG students do not have things to do? If only God put you in my shoes for a week, I bet you’ll seal your mouth forever. Yes, we do get allowances, and our futures are secured, but you have no idea the works that we have to do as a payback. Kalau gagal boleh kena buang geng, ingat cincai ka? We have assembly, we have classes until 5pm almost everyday, we have co-curriculum activities, we have homework, we have assignments, we have school-based-activities, we have society’s activities, we conduct events, and so on. The list is ENDLESS! Not to mention we have to put everything we did in FOLDERS! And everything are being ASSESSED! So please, think before you speak. Jadi cikgu bukannya senang.
