Cathy Doll Tofu Set

When I got my allowance for this semester, I remember making a vow to myself that a part of it will be invested on the wellness of my skin. And yeah, it does make me spend a lot of money on beauty products but, the worst part is; I don’t even feel guilty.

Anyway, let us skip the cliché "feeling-guilty" part and jump to product review, shall we? Wohoo, I will be reviewing Tofu Body Set from Cathy Doll; one of my favourite products ever. But nah, don’t worry; because i will be honest in giving my opinion, I won’t sugar-coat it.

In case any of you is wondering what Tofu Body Set is, it is a set of body-care items under Cathy Doll brand. I actually have never heard about Cathy Doll before, until one of my blogger friend; Dyanared promotes about it in her IG, and yes, I bought my Tofu Set from her. :)

Tofu Body Bath Cleanser

I think among the three items, this is my second favourite. It smells very very nice, like vanilla ice cream (maybe), but sadly the smell does not last very long. Once you rinse your body with water, the smell fade away together. However, I think it heals the dry skin around my ankle.

 Tofu Body Pudding

Tofu pudding is a lotion. I wear it right after I showered (it is important to wear lotion or cream immediately after shower to maintain the dampness) everyday without fail. I love the smell, the smell is similar to the shower cream; which I love, but unfortunately, it is too ‘light’ for my skin. I love to slather my skin with heavy cream, so, this pudding a.k.a lotion does not quench my demand. Haha. But it would be a great alternative if you are a fan of ‘light’ lotion. However, I don’t see any improvement on my skin colour after wearing it religiously for 3 months. 

Tofu Mask

My favourite!!! I love, I love, I love this mask. Smells very very nice, like the other Tofus, and most importantly, it makes my skin better! I put it on my face almost everyday, and it makes my skin very-very soft. It heals the dry area around my lips, and lessen the sunburn effect which many products failed to do (ai ni hari2 kena panas+malas pakai sunblock). It is very cheap as well, considering the fact that it can last me for months with careful use. The only shortcoming is, the bottle is not very hygienic as you have to use your finger to take the mask out. Anyway, 5 stars for this mask! I will totally re-purchase this mask; maybe buy it in bulk haha.

So, I hope you find enlightenment about this Tofu Set after reading my review. This is strictly my own experience and please, please, please do not expect similar result on your skin!  What works on me, might not work on you and what doesn't work on me, might work on you. :) Try and you'll know it. 

Review: Kate Designing Eyebrow Powder

I used to believe that having thin eyebrows will make me look pretty. But, it’s not. For years, I am stuck with my thin eyebrows, thanks to my adventurous side of shaping it myself. Now, I am trying very hard to get its original shape, but, they refused to grow back after being denied existence for years. LOL. I tried putting coconut oil on them, but seems like I have to wait ages before I can finally see the result so at last, I decided to give an eyebrow powder a shot.

Now, I cannot live without it. I feel totally incomplete when I am not using my Kate Designing Eyebrow powder. It’s my first eyebrow powder ever, so, I cannot really compare it with other brands. But, I do believe that they give out similar result, aren’t they? :)

I love how easy it is to apply this thing; I just fill my eyebrow with this powder, no pencil, no mascara. It has 3 different shades to choose from, with free brush. Very convenient especially for someone who are always in a rush, like me. :p

Trust me; I am still an amateur when it comes to makeup. But, for someone who is still learning, I think I did quite a great job on my eyebrow, aren’t I? HAHA… 

Review: Garnier Skincare

I've been a faithful user of Garnier for almost 2 months now. Eligible enough to do a review, I supposed? Erk, ermmm not really a review, more to like.....an opinion..haha...review sounds so professional...which I'm not...

1.Garnier Cleanser

Okay, let's start with the cleanser first. This is my first Garnier product ever. It claims to cleanse, brighten, and clarify the skin, and I tell you, it works. After using it for a week, I sensed that my skin has become a bit brighter than before. Well, actually I have no idea whether or not this cleanser helped me because I stayed in my room all the time memorising facts for exam, but there's no harm in believing right? haha... However, it did make my skin feel good; no more oily T-Zone! 

2. Garnier Night Cream (Light Complete)

I got this cream a week after I bought my cleanser. My friend; which is a Garnier-lover told me to buy the 'Light Complete' series since it is less oily than the 'Light' series. So, I bought the Light Complete one because I believe she knows better considering the fact that she's been an avid user of Garnier for a long time. And yes, it is less oily than the 'Light' series. (I've tried my friend's Light series cream). And I'm loving it. So, few days ago, I did a check up on my skin, and I was soooo happy to see that my 5-months old scars has gone!! So did my blackhead! However, older scars are still there, but have faded a bit. I guess it is the reward for using this cream religiously for 2 months. :) Not to mention it also gives me a healthy glow beside moisturising my skin without making it oily.

3. Day Cream 

I cannot say much about this cream because I only bought this 3 weeks ago, and I rarely used it since I don't really like the consistency of this cream. I think it is quite 'hard' and it doesn't spread good on skin. Besides, it makes my skin really dry and 'cakey', like I've put a very thick powder on my skin. I won't repurchase it despite it's cheap price; RM8.91 for a 40ml tube. However, the bonus part is, it makes my skin shine-free for hours, 4-6 hours to be exact. :)

Well, if it doesn't work on your skin, blame me not! Everyone's skin reacts differently, ain't? ^^

Review: Pig-nose clear black head from Holika Holika

This week I got myself a nose strip from Holika Holika. I am so obsessed with nose strip coz I have a slightly severe whiteheads and blackheads on my nose. It's a product from Korea, and I put hope on it coz it's from Korea! Korean girls are known for their flawless skin right??

So, I wore it just like how I wear the other nose strips; I wet my nose with warm water, put the strip on, and wait for 15 minutes. Well, it is not stated that you have to wear it like that, (plus, I can't read the instruction since it's in Korean) but, that's how people wear a nose strip, isn't it? Girl's instinct. o.0

So......

I was so disappointed. There's nothing on the strip!! (I put hope on it, you know!!)...hmm, I prefer The Face Shop coz their nose strip is obviously more effective than this...

Review: The Face Shop Black Head Aloe Nose Strip

Yesterday, I got myself the Black Head Aloe Nose Strip from The Face Shop. It is quite pricey I think, Rm2.90 for a bloody nose strip! ~.~ nooo...

Well, I basically wear it like how I wear the Biore Pore Strip. I wet my nose with lukewarm water and put the strip on. It smells sooooooo bad! Like cigarette! I almost faint...I guess it's because of the Volcanic Clay..That's one of it's ingredients.. ~.~ But I like how strong it stuck to my nose. That ensure effectiveness! It was very tight and hard but I didn't feel any pain during the removal process. 

Well, I really want to show you how effective it is in removing my whiteheads but sorry it's gross! Although I can only see one blackhead removed, that is better than nothing. 

5 Stars! I'll definitely gonna get myself a box of this. 

Review: Nano Aloe Vera Facial Wash

I have just finished cleaning the store room. Oh gosh, with the heavy rain, I don’t think it’s a good idea to wash the sofas’ cover. But I’ve washed it =.= grr..need to prepare my ears for my mum’s lecture tonight.

My current activities at home really (which is cleaning all the time) make me lazy from taking a good care of my skin. Well, really. What’s the point of wearing all the creams and lotions when you are going to indulge yourself with dirt right? Mueheheh, but no worry. I have my Nano Aloe Vera Facial Wash that acts as my ‘skin guard’.

I bought it 2 months ago just for the sake of trying. So, I’ve been wearing it for 2 months! Let's see how good it has been to me...

Packaging

I love the packaging. It comes in tube which is very hygienic and user-friendly.

Texture

Very light and makes a lot of foam. The skin feels fresh after every wash.

Price

Not so expensive. Affordable. RM36 for every 50g.

Overall

I think it’s a good product. My pores are a lot smaller, and my skin feels smoother than before. I really can see the difference especially when I wear my BB cream!

 Well, it doesn't mean it will be good for your skin even if it does wonder to my skin. But, it is worth trying! ^^

Herbaline Facial

So I visited Herbaline yesterday for a facial treatment. After reading so many good reviews about Herbaline, I was determined to try it myself. But before that, I would like to inform you that my opinion might be bias because I've never tried another place other than Herbaline for a facial treatment, thus I have nothing to compare it's service with.

Here goes my bias opinion;
Service: 5 Stars
Staff: Friendly, chatty and understanding
Product: 4 Stars (I've tried the facial wash and I like it)
Price: 3.5 Stars (Too expensive for students)

I took the most basic package, the RM48 one, but the extraction of whiteheads and blackheads is also included. OMG! The extraction was soooooo painful!! But no pain no gain, rightttt?? My face feel sooo smooth after that…70 percent of my whiteheads and blackheads are now gone…Yay!! The extraction process alone took us about 1 hour, and I could feel that the beautician was struggling extracting those stubborn heads from my face! And I  too was struggling to hold my tears! LOL.

The thing that I love the most about Herbaline is the short talk between the beautician and the customer before the treatment session. It helps the customer to know their skin condition and of course it will avoid us customer  from choosing the wrong treatment that maybe we do not need at all.

After the facial, I had a short talk again with the beautician. I'd like to call it the reflection session because this is when the beautician tell us the severity of our skin (in my case, it's blackhead), and what do we need to do to lessen the problem. And of course they will tell you that Herbaline product is the only product that can cure it, don't fall. You don't have to trust them when they started blabbing about the 'goodness' of their product. Haha.. Overall, it was a really great experience. I'll surely re-visit them, when I have extra pocket money. :)
